Jordan & Tal

Jordan and Tal came to Puerto Vallarta in November 2025 for their engagement session. November is one of the best months on this coast: the rainy season has just closed, everything is still green, the light is soft and long in the afternoons, and the city is quieter than it will be by December. Dani and I spent the late afternoon with them, working through the light as it moved across the water and into the trees.
We moved between the beach and the jungle, which is the combination that makes this stretch of coast so good to photograph in. The sand gave us open light and the water behind them; the jungle gave us shade, green, and that particular filtered light that comes through the canopy in the late afternoon. Jordan and Tal were easy to photograph together. There is a particular quality to couples who have been paying attention to each other for a long time, a shorthand in how they move and how they look at each other, and that is what I am always watching for. I shot on 35mm film while Dani worked alongside me with her Super 8.
