Honest, unposed moments captured on 35mm film & digital + super 8. for couples who care more about feeling than perfection.
Where the jungle meets the sea, and where weddings feel like experiences, not events.
Tulum is unlike anywhere else in Mexico. Cenotes, open-air venues built from wood and stone, the light filtering through the palm trees at golden hour.
Everything here is designed to blend into nature, and so are we.
As documentary wedding photographers in Tulum, we’ve experienced firsthand what makes this place so powerful to document.
The setting creates the atmosphere. Our role is to stay present, move with intention, and capture your day as it naturally unfolds, without interrupting it.
35MM ANALOG FILM
Film photography thrives in Tulum's light.
Every wedding we document includes 35mm analog film and Tulum is one of the most beautiful places in Mexico to shoot it.
The natural textures, the softness of cenote light, the warmth of candlelit nights. Film captures it all with a depth that feels less like a photograph and more like a memory.
We shoot both film and digital throughout your entire day, combining the intentionality of analog with the flexibility of digital. Nothing is missed. Everything is felt.
DOCUMENTARY STYLE
Tulum's natural settings are made for documentary photography.
There are no grand ballrooms here, just open skies, candlelight, and couples who chose this place because they wanted something real. That authenticity is exactly what our approach is built for.
Most wedding photography in Tulum leans editorial or heavily directed. Our approach is different, it’s about documenting what’s real.
The light in Tulum is unlike anywhere else in Mexico. Soft, diffused, and constantly changing, filtering through cenote walls and palm canopies in a way that can’t be replicated anywhere else. Our documentary style means we adapt to your day as it naturally unfolds, never the other way around.
VENUES WE KNOW & LOVE
The Venues: What Each One Looks Like Through the Lens
Every venue in Tulum has its own light, its own rhythm, and its own photographic character. Here is what I have learned from working across these spaces.
AZULIK
Wooden architecture suspended above the jungle. Complex, filtered light and a setting that feels like nowhere else on earth.
PAPAYA PLAYA PROJECT
Rustic-luxury on the Caribbean frontline. The golden hour here is intense, wide, and made for film.
KIMA TULUM
A private jungle sanctuary five minutes from town. Cenote on property. The light through the canopy is extraordinary.
NOMADE TULUM
Boho-chic meets the beach. Warm, earthy, and deliberately low-key. Pairs naturally with analog film.
AMBRE ET EPICES
An 8-room Moroccan-inspired villa tucked into the jungle. Two pools, candlelit corners, and a scale that makes every moment feel completely private.
SAASIL KANTENAH
One of the last truly private beaches in the Riviera Maya. Early morning light here is unlike anywhere else.

SUPER 8 FILM VIDEO
Super 8, a different way to remember your wedding.
The jungle, the candlelight, the golden hour over the Caribbean, motion picture film captures it all with a warmth and texture that feels like a memory from another era.
When you add Super 8, your wedding is documented in both formats simultaneously, still photography and motion picture film, moving together in perfect sync. Two formats, one seamless team, nothing missed.
When we came across Alex's documentary style and almost cinematic shots, we were immediately drawn in. They captured the beauty of the location, the spirit of the event, and most importantly, our personalities and bond.

FAQ
Common questions about Tulum wedding photography
-
The dry season runs from November through April, this is peak wedding season and offers the most consistent weather. That said, we've documented weddings in every season, and some of the most cinematic moments have come from unexpected rain. Tulum has a way of making every condition feel intentional.
-
Tulum offers a wide range of venues, from jungle settings and cenote properties to beachfront spaces and boutique hotels with raw, natural aesthetics. For documentary wedding photography, the most important elements are natural light, texture, and space for moments to unfold organically, all of which Tulum has in abundance. We’re always happy to recommend specific venues once we understand your vision.
-
For most Tulum weddings, we recommend 8 to 10 hours of coverage, enough to document everything from getting ready through the last moments of the night. For smaller celebrations or elopements, 4 to 6 hours often works beautifully. We’ll help you find the right coverage based on your plans during our first conversation.
-
Yes and we highly recommend it. A day-before session gives us the chance to connect, explore Tulum together, and create images without the timeline of the wedding day. Whether it’s a cenote, the beach at golden hour, or a quiet street in town, it often becomes one of the most relaxed and meaningful parts of the experience. This session is included in all of our wedding collections.
