An Intimate Wedding at Villa Valentin, Sayulita

How it unfolded.

Vanessa and Joe got married at Villa Valentin in January 2026, with about sixty people who had traveled to Sayulita to be with them. January is one of the best months for a wedding in this town: dry, warm without being brutal, and the light in the late afternoon is the kind that makes everything look like it was planned. Dani and I spent the day with them, moving through the venue and letting the day unfold around us.
The ceremony happened on the terrace, with the rooftops of Sayulita and the Pacific behind them and the kind of golden hour light that this part of Nayarit does without trying. Vanessa and Joe were steady through the whole thing, the kind of couple that has already figured out the important parts before the wedding day arrives. Dinner filled the space afterward, sixty people around tables, the conversation loose and warm the way it gets when everyone has traveled somewhere together and is relieved to finally be there. I shot on a mix of digital and 35mm film, and Dani layered in Super 8 through the toasts and the dancing.
If you are planning a destination wedding in Sayulita, Villa Valentin is one of the venues that makes this town so good for intimate weddings. Big enough for everyone you love, small enough that the day still feels like yours. Reach out anytime to talk about your own Sayulita wedding with us.
