Murphy and Dan came to Sayulita in December 2025 for their engagement session. December is a good month to be in this town. The surf crowd is there but it has not yet tipped into the holiday rush, the light in the late afternoon is clean and direct, and the streets still have enough room to breathe. Dani and I spent a few hours with them moving through the parts of Sayulita that feel most like itself.
We worked between the beach and the cobblestone streets, the two textures that give Sayulita its particular character. Murphy and Dan were relaxed from the start, the kind of couple that does not need much warming up because they are too busy paying attention to each other to think about the camera. That is the thing I am always waiting for in an engagement session: the moment someone forgets I am there. It happened early with them. I shot the whole session on digital, and Dani worked alongside me from a second angle.
